Job Summary
Acute Care and Ambulatory Geriatrician sought to provide comprehensive ambulatory and inpatient geriatric care at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ, with emphasis on age-friendly care, involvement in clinical research, education, and quality improvement, and potential faculty appointment with Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. Responsibilities include ambulatory and inpatient consultative care focused on comprehensive geriatric care, enhancing care protocols and quality initiatives, supporting research and scholarly activity (grants, publications, presentations), and teaching fellows, medical students, residents, and faculty. The role requires call coverage in evenings, nights, and weekends as assigned, and requires fellowship completion in geriatric medicine, board certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics, and ability to obtain NJ medical, DEA, and CDS licenses. Required Qualifications
- Completion of a fellowship in geriatric medicine in a recognized institution
- Board-certified/Board-eligible in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics
- Ability to obtain New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS license
- Experience in acute care and ambulatory care for older adults
- Excellent clinical and teaching skills
- Proven commitment to research and quality improvement
- Experience in geriatric medicine and/or an affiliation with an academic institution
