Job Summary
Actuary to join USAA's Property Loss Reserving and Reserving Development team. The role applies advanced actuarial knowledge to broad, complex projects (e.g., pricing methodologies for countrywide rollout, regulatory-compliant methodologies, model performance monitoring, catastrophe models) and leads actuarial initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and communicating data-driven solutions, mentoring new team members, identifying compliance gaps, and representing actuarial perspectives in cross-functional efforts. The position offers remote eligibility in the continental U.S. with occasional travel; individuals near an USAA office are expected on-site four days a week. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), ACAS credential, 4 years of actuarial/analytical experience, and strong skills in Python, R, SQL, SAS, and data visualization. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or 4 years of related Actuarial/analytical experience in lieu of degree)
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) Credential
- 4 years of Actuarial or analytical business experience
- Advanced skills with actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques
- Proficiency in data analysis tools: Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools or similar
- Experience communicating complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership
