Job Summary
Actuary role leading reviews of assumptions and capital calibrations, championing process improvements, and preparing comprehensive reports for external reporting and policyholder option bases. Collaborates with Risk, Origination, Operations and Finance, with opportunities for coaching junior actuaries. Requires development of technical judgment, data analysis, and familiarity with longevity risk, internal models, Solvency UK, IFRS, and automation/AI to improve processes. Strong communication skills for senior management and external stakeholders; coding in VBA, Python or R preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
- Experience of working in the life insurance sector
- Experience of working with Line 2 teams and external auditors
- Experience of preparing and presenting papers to senior management
- Experience of using automation/AI to improve process efficiency
- Strong quantitative and analytical expertise
- Familiarity with Solvency UK and IFRS regulations
- Knowledge of developing, documenting and maintaining an Internal Model
- Familiarity with the external financial reporting and audit process
- Detailed knowledge of longevity risk and other bulk annuity related assumptions
- Coding skills in VBA, Python or R
