Job Summary
Assess regulatory capital requirements under Solvency II, including SFCR and SCR calculations, and manage technical provisions for financial statement reserving. Advise insurance clients on risk management, corporate governance, and the insurance license application process. Estimate cash flows and risk adjustments for IFRS 17 concepts. Collaborate with audit and non-audit teams to deliver projects within budget and timescales while coaching junior members. Requires 3+ years of actuarial insurance experience, preferably with Big 4 background, and IFoA qualification.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of work experience in actuarial insurance related areas
- Experience in risk and capital modelling
- Strong understanding of reserving
- Understanding of underwriting
- Understanding of catastrophe risks
- Exposure to Solvency II regulation
- Experience with review of SFCRs
- Experience with SCR calculations
- Good understanding of a broad range of commonly used reserving techniques
- Understanding of key reserving issues faced by the insurance industry
- Ability to communicate complex technical matters in a clear way
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good all-round commercial awareness
