Job Summary
Actuarial Coop role within CNA's Actuary Department focusing on applying actuarial techniques to support pricing and monitoring risks across Property, Casualty, Auto, Marine and Specialty lines. Responsibilities include assisting in pricing reviews for large accounts, producing monthly pricing metrics and branch P&L dashboards, updating pricing and portfolio management tools, collecting data and generating analytics for portfolio reviews and year-end reporting, preparing and analyzing exposure, premium and claims data, and collaborating with Underwriting, Finance, IT, Claims and Risk Control on ad-hoc projects. The co-op program provides structured day-to-day activities and large projects with mentorship, and the role emphasizes applying CNA’s core values, professional development, and teamwork while delivering concrete achievements over the semester.
Required Qualifications
- Current Bachelor’s degree co-op student with a history of strong academic performance
- Proven track record in customer service with excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical, organizational and time management skills; must be detail-oriented
- Ability to conceptualize details and develop action plans for problem solving and decision making
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment with limited supervision
- Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities
- Experience with Alteryx, SQL, VBA is considered an asset
