Job Summary
Design and manage group medical, dental, life, and disability benefits for clients while performing actuarial valuations, reserve calculations, and simulation modeling. Prepare client reports, conduct annual renewal negotiations, and analyze plan financial performance through experience reporting and budget projections. Review benefits documentation for accuracy, benchmark plan designs, and assist in building financial databases and marketing tools. Gather data to determine cost impacts for design changes and monitor carrier/provider service standards. Submit specifications and cost comparisons for marketing responses. Work with internal consulting teams and vendors to ensure quality standards and support client deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- To be a university student in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related discipline
- Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands in order to meet client and company needs
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sensitivity to confidential information
- Actively writing Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) exams
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of actuarial valuation software (e.g., ProVal) is an asset
