Job Summary
Prepare rate indications, analyze rating components, and develop pricing proposals to support the rate review process. Extract and analyze premium and loss data using statistical programs to evaluate results for reasonability. Assist in product development by designing reports, forecasting industry trends, and presenting findings to senior management. Solve complex business problems through actuarial techniques and provide actionable insights on market, legal, and regulatory trends. Compile statistical data via Excel and data management programs to facilitate pricing, reinsurance reporting, and valuation functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or business-related discipline
- Works well independently and in a team environment
- Detail oriented and high level of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Organization, planning and prioritization skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and judgment skills
- Effective time management skills, including the capability to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Takes initiative on projects and assignments
- Strong mathematical skills, and a deep understanding of risk management
- Ability to translate actuarial research into written recommendations
- Intermediate programming skills (SQL, Python, R)
