Job Summary
Activity Therapist at Peace Hospital provides therapeutic recreational assessments and develops/comprises activity therapy interventions and programs for children, adolescents, and adults. Responsibilities include conducting activity therapy assessments, making treatment recommendations, participating in interdisciplinary treatment planning, delivering individual or group activity therapy, maintaining patient charts with confidential documentation, ensuring safe, stocked therapeutic supplies, and applying expressive therapy techniques. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field and at least one year of direct therapeutic experience. Shift is 8-10 hours, part-time (4-5 days/week) based in Louisville, KY. Skills include active listening, social perceptiveness, communication (verbal and written), clinical reasoning, and knowledge of behavioral and affective disorders, with proficiency in electronic documentation and patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field (required)
- Minimum one (1) year experience providing direct individual or group therapeutic services (required)
- Shift: 8-10 hours; Part-time 4-5 days/week
- Knowledge and abilities in therapeutic recreation and activity therapy
- Ability to develop and conduct therapy groups and individual activities
- HIPAA confidentiality
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
