Job Summary
The Activity Therapist/Mental Health Worker performs therapeutic activities within an inpatient hospital milieu, collaborating with unit staff and an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide groups that meet patients’ educational, recreational, and social needs. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment through observation and group facilitation, assisting with activities of daily living, advocating for patients, and modeling professional standards. A Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences is preferred, with experience working with mentally ill patients and activity-based groups being advantageous. Strong communication, teamwork, creativity, and flexibility are essential. This is a part-time role (20/40 schedule) with every other weekend on an Adult Inpatient Intensive Treatment Unit.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in working with mentally ill clients
- Experience in activity-based groups preferred
