Job Summary
Develop and implement specialized activities including SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, life skills, and performing arts to foster social-emotional competencies and mental well-being in a safe, inclusive environment. Teach participants fundamentals to build skill levels and confidence while coordinating culminating performances at the end of program cycles. Monitor students with IEPs and medical conditions, adhering to support plans to ensure their success, and respond appropriately to time-sensitive mental health needs by providing referrals. Collaborate with Group Leaders, teachers, and staff to build positive relationships with youth and caretakers, maintaining open communication lines and attending scheduled meetings. Complete 15 hours of weekly programming (3 hours daily, 5 days) following 15 hours of orientation and mandatory professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma / GED
- At least 18 years old
- Minimum of two years' work experience in a non-profit agency working with youth
- Excellent classroom management, behavior management, and facilitation skills
- Experience and competency in the material they would like to teach
- Able to work 15 hours a week (3 hours a day, 5 days a week)
- Able to attend 15 hours of orientation prior to the beginning of programming
- Able to attend scheduled staff meetings and professional development throughout the year
