Job Summary
Activity Specialist designs and facilitates project-based learning experiences within a specified content area, collaborates with site leadership to plan and execute youth development activities, coordinates events such as showcases and field trips, prepares materials and paperwork, supports participants, attends meetings and professional development, and ensures the safety and well-being of all participants. Requires current college student or graduate status, at least 2 years of experience with youth, strong relationship-building, collaboration, organization, and a passion for working with children; schedule includes Monday–Friday afternoons with some Saturdays, and the role is hourly and in-person at location sites in Queens, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Current college student or graduate 18 years old or older
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and/or youth in your specialization in a professional setting
- Strong ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, youth, families, and other stakeholders
- Motivated and passionate to work closely with children
- Strong supervision skills for elementary (or middle school or high school-aged youth)
- Works collaboratively with others
- Well organized with strict attention to detail
