Job Summary
Foster social and emotional competencies and mental well-being in a safe, inclusive environment while teaching participants specialized activities in SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, and performing arts. Coordinate culminating performances at the end of each program cycle and adapt instruction for students with IEPs and medical conditions. Respond appropriately to time-sensitive mental health needs, including suicide prevention and grief, by providing referrals to appropriate services. Build positive relationships with youth and caretakers, attend staff meetings, and collaborate with Group Leaders and professional staff.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma / GED
- At least 18 years old
- Minimum of two years' work experience in a non-profit agency working with youth
- Excellent classroom management, behavior management, and facilitation skills
- Experience and competency in the material they would like to teach
- Able to work 15 hours a week (3 hours a day, 5 days a week)
- Able to attend 15 hours of orientation prior to the beginning of programming
- Able to attend scheduled staff meetings and professional development throughout the year
Desired Qualifications
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese
