Job Summary
Activity Specialist to design and lead a variety of activities (arts, sports, STEM, and life skills) for NYC public middle-school students, aligned with DYCD guidelines; responsibilities include planning age-appropriate lessons, facilitating inclusive activities, chaperoning field trips, supporting students’ social-emotional and academic needs, collaborating with staff and communicating with families; requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and at least two years of youth-work experience; position is in-person after-school, 20-25 hours/week, paying $25-$30/hour; background check required; opportunities for First Aid/CPR certification are preferred; bilingual abilities (Spanish or Haitian Creole) are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience working with youth in an educational or recreational setting
- Experience in planning and leading activities for diverse groups of students
- Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred (not required)
- Background check successful completion
- Fluency in other languages is a plus (Spanish or Haitian Creole)
