Job Summary
Activity Specialist delivers high-energy youth programs across CPS-aligned goals, facilitating curriculum activities (homework help, sports, arts/crafts, STEM), promoting student engagement, and supervising youth with positive mentorship. Responsibilities include safety oversight of classrooms, gym, computer labs, and outdoor areas; adhering to CPS, CDC, BGCA, and BGCA guidelines; recording attendance and participation metrics; coordinating events (e.g., awards, science fairs, sports leagues, galas); and assisting with inventory and area maintenance. Requires strong communication, energy, adaptability, problem-solving, and a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in Education, Social Work, Recreation, STEM, or Human Services is strongly preferred; background check and drug screening are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Enrollment in or completion of college coursework in Education, Social Work, Recreation, STEM, or Human Services (preferred)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth ages 6–18 (preferred)
- Background check and drug screening clearance (required)
