Job Summary
Assist the Director Activities in planning and carrying out the activity program by approaching residents on assigned units to plan individual recreational and social activities. Prepare resident information for care planning and documentation, writing progress notes as assigned. Maintain departmental inventory of equipment and supplies, track attendance records, and prepare other required reports. Collaborate with staff to support residents' holistic wellbeing and develop contacts with community resources for the betterment of the activities program. This role is based at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid, NY, a location honored as the home of the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 yrs. age
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Valid New York Driver's License
- clean driving record
- Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors
- Ability to inspire and motivate others
- create a warm and accepting climate for residents
- adapt and modify activities to meet their needs
- Understanding of the rights and needs of residents
- Physical stamina for constant activity
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
