Job Summary
Assist the Director Activities in planning and carrying out the activity program by approaching residents on assigned units to plan individual recreational and social activities. Report resident responses and cooperation to the Director Activities, prepare resident information for care planning and documentation, and write progress notes as assigned. Maintain departmental inventory of equipment and supplies, manage attendance records, and prepare other reports as required. Collaborate with staff to support residents' holistic wellbeing while fostering social connections and mental stimulation. This role supports a vibrant community at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid, NY, offering a full benefits package and gas allowance stipend.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 yrs. age
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Valid New York Driver's License
- clean driving record
- Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors
- Ability to inspire and motivate others
- create a warm and accepting climate for residents
- adapt and modify activities to meet their needs
- Understanding of the rights and needs of residents
- Physical stamina for constant activity
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
