Job Summary
Plan and carry out recreational programs for residents, approaching assigned units to schedule individual activities and report on resident cooperation. Assist the Director Activities in program execution while preparing resident information for care planning and documentation. Maintain departmental equipment inventory, manage attendance records, and prepare required reports. Develop relationships with community resources to enhance the activities program. Requires a valid New York driver's license, high school diploma, and ability to communicate in English at an intermediate or advanced level. Minimum age of 18.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 yrs. age
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Valid New York Driver's License
- clean driving record
- Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors
- Ability to inspire and motivate others
- create a warm and accepting climate for residents
- adapt and modify activities to meet their needs
- Understanding of the rights and needs of residents
- Physical stamina for constant activity
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
