Job Summary
Assist the Director Activities in planning and carrying out recreational programs to keep residents energized, engaged, and mentally stimulated. Approach assigned units to plan individual activities, report resident responses, and prepare information for care planning and documentation. Develop and maintain contact with community resources, manage departmental inventory, and maintain attendance records. Requires a valid New York Driver's License, physical stamina for constant activity, and ability to adapt activities to resident needs. Full-time days with weekend rotation required.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time days, weekend rotation
- Minimum 18 yrs. age
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Valid New York Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors
- Ability to inspire and motivate others
- Create a warm and accepting climate for residents
- Adapt and modify activities to meet their needs
- Understanding of the rights and needs of residents
- Physical stamina for constant activity
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
