Job Summary
Activity Director responsible for enhancing resident wellness and quality of life by planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and directing the life enrichment program within the department, ensuring activities align with residents' spiritual, emotional, social, physical, educational/intellectual, occupational, cultural, recreational, and psychosocial well-being; will oversee the overall life enrichment program in compliance with applicable standards and policies, and perform additional duties as directed by Administration. The role supports certification and professional development opportunities and requires collaboration with leadership to maintain program quality in a care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must be certified therapeutic recreational therapist (CTRS) through NCTRC; or an Activity Director Certified (ADC) through NCCAP; or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certified in the state where the community is located.
- Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or related field is preferred but not required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, preferably one year full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting as a director.
- Must be able to communicate in English and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
