Job Summary
Encourage residents to maintain independent living potential through diverse activity and recreational programs. Create a monthly activity calendar and ensure activities match each resident's service plan. Assist volunteers and C.N.A.'s in group activities while conducting daily attendance charting and 1:1 visits for those not in groups. Maintain inventory, keep the activity room clean, and document facility happenings in a scrapbook and Facebook page. Participate in required meetings and work different days or hours for special events. Maintain professional relationships with residents, families, vendors, and staff while conducting yourself professionally.
Required Qualifications
- 17 years or older
- in good health
- properly immunized against infectious diseases, including measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria
- written proof of a recent TB test or obtain one within two weeks of the date of hire
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- positive and encouraging
- ability to motivate residents to participate in activities
- current Food Handler's Permit or obtain one within two weeks
- ability to do occasional heavy lifting of residents (up to 40 lbs.)
Desired Qualifications
- ADC or Recreational Therapy Certification
