Job Summary
Develop and coordinate a comprehensive activity program fostering social, physical, intellectual, and recreational engagement for residents at our Assisted Living community in Cumming, GA. Create and distribute a monthly community newsletter and activity calendar, while conducting resident interest assessments to tailor activities to their preferences and history. Establish and oversee a volunteer program, coordinate with vendors for special events, and chaperone off-site outings. Foster social connections among residents and collaborate with the marketing team on community events. Lead and participate in community decorating for holidays and special occasions. Requires two years of experience working with seniors, ability to lift 25+ lbs, and proficiency in computer skills for scheduling and record-keeping.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to lift and move 25+ lbs and engage in physical activity (squatting, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods)
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with seniors (preferred)
- Experience in senior living or memory care preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with residents, families, and staff
- Understanding of aging-related needs and principles of senior social work
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage a diverse range of activities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Compassionate and patient approach when working with older adults
- Proficiency in computer skills for scheduling, record-keeping, and activity planning
