Job Summary
Plan and execute all scheduled activity programs, leading both large and small group sessions while providing one-on-one reality orientation. Motivate residents to participate in activities and supervise outings, assisting with personal correspondence, shopping, and mail management. Review facility policies, file complaints to the Executive Director, and participate in government agency surveys. Accept full accountability for assigned tasks and collaborate with volunteers. Requires a high school diploma, GED, or two years of experience; must be an occupational therapist, therapy assistant, or therapeutic recreation specialist for skilled nursing communities. Full-time position in North Lima, Ohio, with competitive wages, benefits including 401k match, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Genuine interest in geriatric work
- Willingness to work for the best interest of the facility
- Positive, upbeat personality
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Occupational therapist or therapy assistant or therapeutic recreation specialist (skilled nursing communities only)
