Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and direct the resident activity program while organizing individual and group activities for high and low-functioning populations. Complete the Minimum Data Set section E, develop the activities component of the Comprehensive Care Plan, and conduct annual resident assessments. Provide one-to-one activities for bedfast residents, prepare monthly calendars and facility newsletters, and coordinate two off-site activities monthly. Recruit and supervise the volunteer program, collaborate on employee and non-employee events, and participate in facility QA meetings. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure accessibility for residents and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a high school or have a certificate recognized by a state of the United States as the equivalent of a high-school diploma
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university
- Completed an activities director's course
- One year of full-time experience working with elderly people or people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program
- Two years of full-time experience working with elderly people or people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program
