Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and direct the resident activity program while organizing individual and group activities for both high and low functioning residents. Complete section E of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and develop the activities component of the Comprehensive Care Plan from assessments. Provide one-on-one activities for bedfast residents and prepare monthly calendars and facility newsletters. Coordinate off-site events, collaborate with the Activities Coordinator on facility events, and recruit and supervise the volunteer program. Participate in QA meetings and complete monthly reports. Requires a bachelor's degree and two years of experience working with elderly or disabled individuals.
Required Qualifications
- graduated from a high school or have a certificate recognized by a state of the United States as the equivalent of a high-school diploma
- a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- one year of full-time experience working with elderly people or people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program
- 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university
- two years of full-time experience working with elderly people or people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program
- completed an activities director's course
- two years of full-time experience working with elderly people or people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program
