Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic recreational activities under the direction of the Activity Therapist or Supervisor to facilitate rehabilitation of physically and mentally disabled patients. Direct patient participation in games, social activities, sports, or music to create an atmosphere of sociability and provide creative expression. Cultivate positive morale and minimize distress of illness while helping patients explore their own potential during hospitalization and after discharge. Requires a High School Diploma or Associate Degree in Activity or Recreational therapy, with a preferred Recreational Therapy Assistant Certificate and at least one year of experience in Behavioral Healthcare or SNF settings. This role is part-time, five days a week, with a competitive hourly range of $18.00 to $21.75.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Associate's Degree in Activity, Recreational therapy or other related field
Desired Qualifications
- Recreational Therapy Assistant (RTA) or Activity Therapy Assistant Certificate
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative or SNF setting
- Behavioral Violence Prevention certification within 6 months of hire
- Behavioral Violence Prevention certification maintained current annually
