Job Summary
Plan and provide activities that support residents' quality of life, following the Calendar of Events created by the Resident Experience Director. Maintain updated social histories and life profiles for each resident, while assisting with the "Better Health for a Better Self" wellness program. Meet new residents and families upon arrival to encourage participation, and manage inventory of activity supplies by submitting monthly needs lists. Operate and drive the community bus for resident outings and outreach as needed. Assist with holiday party setup and break down, and respond to resident, family, or team concerns by elevating issues to the Administrator. Drive a current state license and pass criminal background clearance. Work every other weekend, Monday, and Friday with rotating holidays, earning up to 1% quarterly wage increase and access to earned wages.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current and valid state driver's license
- Must be able to pass a criminal background clearance
- Must be at least 16 years of age
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of experience working in a social or recreational program in a healthcare setting
- At least minimal experience in planning and directing activities for elderly residents
- Experience in planning and organizing special programs for residents, families, and staff
- Good verbal communication skills, including the ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood
- Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities, and enlisting the support of facility team members for activity programming
- Ability to evaluate residents' needs and able to adjust programming as needed
- Ability to respond to resident, family, or team concerns in a respectful, patient, and professional manner elevating concerns to the Administrator as needed
- Ability to represent the Community in a positive and professional manner
