Job Summary
Provide one-on-one recreational therapy activities for children, including arts and crafts, organized games, and pet therapy. Lead and conduct developmentally appropriate activities, document responses and observations, and communicate with the Recreation Therapy Director. Assist in organizing and directing events (e.g., Halloween Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Party), maintain safety and prepare the activity space and equipment. Build relationships with staff and external groups; perform related duties as assigned. Requires high school education and prior experience with children in recreation, healthcare, daycare, or school settings; proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to lift 25 pounds and work independently after direction.
Required Qualifications
- A high school graduate with at least 2 references.
- Course work in recreation, education, or related field is desirable.
- Previous experience working with children in a recreation program, health care, day care, school setting or related field.
