Job Summary
Activity Aide responsibilities include providing recreational activities for residents by planning, conducting, evaluating, and participating in one-on-one and group activity programs, while ensuring a safe environment. The role involves presenting activities tailored to residents’ physical and cognitive abilities, motivating participation, preparing and assisting with scheduled activities and crafts (including ceramics, needlework, and woodwork), transporting residents to programs, accompanying them to community events, coordinating supplies, documenting participation, and assisting the Activity Director with scheduling movies, parties, decorations, and other events. Education preference is graduation from an accredited high school or GED, with prior long-term care experience and an artistic background or experience with a certified activity consultant being desirable.
