Job Summary
Supervise extracurricular athletics and non-athletic student activities, including daily student supervision and overseeing home athletic events. Schedule school facility use for gyms and athletic fields, manage game day equipment like scoreboards and sound systems, and assist with transportation for after-school and away events. Check game fields for readiness, maintain equipment, and set up gear with custodians. Promote community relations by communicating with officials, physicians, and parents, while resolving rule-related issues before, during, and after contests. Contact officials and police as required and report incidents to the Activities Director. Work evenings and weekends across district locations, adhering to MSHSAA guidelines and eligibility standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Missouri secondary principal's certificate
- At least three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Consistent and regular attendance
- Ability to visit all school locations as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities
- Physical stamina to handle challenging work schedules
- Respect for students, teachers, parents, and support staff
- Ability to attend and lead various events, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift moderate weights up to 40 pounds transferring materials to schools
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of persons in a challenging setting
- Ability to work in a variety of locations and travel throughout the district
- Ability to meet the physical demands of handling a variety of student needs
- Ability to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, see and reach
Desired Qualifications
- Major in educational administration
- Experience as a Head Coach or with activities/athletics
