Job Summary
Supervise extracurricular athletics and non-athletic student activities, including daily oversight of students and home athletic events. Manage game day operations by checking field readiness, setting up equipment, and overseeing transportation for after-school and away events. Schedule school facility use for gyms and athletic areas while maintaining MSHSAA guidelines and eligibility standards. Promote community relations by communicating with officials, team physicians, and parents regarding incidents or concerns. Address rule-related issues before, during, and after contests. Travel to various school locations as needed, including evenings and weekends, to fulfill duties across the district.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Missouri secondary principal's certificate
- At least three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Consistent and regular attendance
- Ability to visit all school locations as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities
- Physical stamina to handle challenging work schedules
- Respect for students, teachers, parents, and support staff
- Ability to exercise sound judgment on sensitive issues
- Ability to attend and lead various events, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift moderate weights up to 40 pounds transferring materials to schools
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of persons in a challenging setting
- Ability to work in a variety of locations and travel throughout the district
- Ability to meet the physical demands of handling a variety of student needs
- Ability to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, see and reach
Desired Qualifications
- Major in educational administration
- Experience as a Head Coach or with activities/athletics
