Activities Program Assistant Healthcare

Job Summary
Organize, implement, and supervise resident activities while maintaining accurate attendance records and activity calendars. Prepare and clean activity spaces, coordinate transportation for outings, and manage program supplies and volunteer oversight. Assist residents with personal requests such as reading mail or writing letters, and maintain confidentiality in compliance with regulations. Collaborate with the Program Manager and other departments to meet the comprehensive needs of residents with varying cognitive and physical impairments. Perform medium-level physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and moving furniture frequently. Work part-time schedules including Wednesdays through Saturdays and Tuesdays, with a preference for experience working with the geriatric population.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work with residents with varying degrees of cognitive and physical impairments
- Must have good organization, time management and recording keeping skills
- Requires patience, creativity, punctuality, dependability, flexibility, enthusiasm, initiative and the ability to work with Healthcare residents
- Must be self-directed to accomplish tasks
- Computer skills are essential
- Ability to lift 50Ibs on an occasional basis
- Move tables, chairs, and exerting twenty pounds of force on a frequent basis
- Performance of a medium level of physical work – pushing, lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, sitting, carrying, stooping, and reaching
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with the geriatric population preferred
