Job Summary
Develop and coordinate engaging group and one-on-one recreational, educational, social, cultural, and therapeutic activities based on each resident's individualized care plan. Design a comprehensive activities program promoting resident independence, dignity, and social engagement while maintaining accurate documentation of participation, progress, and program effectiveness. Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, social services, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create meaningful opportunities and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including CMS F680 requirements. Plan seasonal events, celebrations, outings, and entertainment, ensuring activity areas and equipment remain safe and organized. Assist with resident transportation for appointments and community outings as needed. Maintain activity calendars, program records, budgets, and inventories. Work Monday through Friday from 8am to 3pm at a rate of $19-20/hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation; OR a minimum of two (2) years of experience developing and coordinating activities programming in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience leading life enrichment or recreational activities
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
- Passion for serving older adults and vulnerable populations
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Activity Professional (CAP), ADC, CTRS, or comparable certification
- Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or assisted living
- Knowledge of CMS regulations and person-centered care practices
- Experience conducting resident assessments and developing individualized programming
- Strong event planning, volunteer coordination, and community partnership experience
- Bilingual skills
