Job Summary
Activities Director directs recreational and therapeutic activities for residents at Litchford Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center. Responsible for patient assessment and care planning for activities, management of the recreational program (including creating a monthly calendar), establishing an active volunteer program, composing patient oral histories, and encouraging patient involvement. Requires an associate degree or higher with one of: two years of recent experience in a social/recreational program (one year full-time in a patient activities program in healthcare), NCAP certification, or completion of a state-approved activities training course. Preferred candidates have a four-year degree and certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Benefits include health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid time off, and a 401K retirement plan.
Required Qualifications
- associate degree or higher
- two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting
- certification by the National Council for Activity Professionals
- completion of a state-approved activities training course
- preferred: four-year college degree and certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
