Job Summary
Direct and oversee recreational and therapeutic activity programs for residents in a skilled nursing facility. Lead and supervise the Activities Department, review activity assessments, and develop, plan, and implement programs and special events to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of residents. Requires licensure by the state and eligibility for certification as an Activities professional; prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities; strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed by the State and eligible for certification as an Activities professional
- Experience in skilled nursing facility or long term care environment
- Provide therapeutic activities to address physical, mental or psychosocial needs; socialization
- Review activity assessments for all residents
- Develop, plan and implement recreational programs and events based on resident needs
- Must have 1 year Experience in Activities Department; 1 year in Skilled Nursing Facility
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
