Job Summary
The Activities Coordinator plans, organizes, develops, and may direct the Activity Department to design an on-going program of activities that promote the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of residents, in compliance with applicable standards. Responsibilities include providing quality activity programming, interacting with residents and families, reviewing concerns, serving as a community liaison to secure new revenue opportunities, attending care conferences, and ensuring documentation and compliance. Supervises Activities staff, determines performance expectations, supports staff development and training, coordinates plans of care and progress notes, and collaborates with Human Resources as needed. The role requires experience in long-term care or healthcare settings, supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage staffing and adherence to policies while supporting Ohio Living’s mission across its communities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in recreation, art therapy, or a related field
- Current unencumbered designation to practice as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist preferred
- Two years experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other related healthcare setting required
- One year supervisory experience preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be insurable under professional liability and crime coverage policies as specified by insurance carrier underwriting standards
