Activities Coach (Part Time)

Job Summary
Provide and implement engaging activity opportunities for residents, including community-based programs, and transport residents to offsite events in the organization vehicle. Collaborate with the Activities team and Village departments to promote inclusion and wellness, assist with Club Arc East weekly, help residents pursue independence in daily environments, conduct needs assessments with residents or supporters, participate in Manager on Duty coverage, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Requires education aligned with a high school diploma or GED with preferred Associate’s degree in public administration, public health, nutrition, education, or related human services, and at least one year of direct experience in recreational and social programs. Must be 21+, pass background clearance and drug screening, and complete mandated state background checks. Strong organizational, communication, de-escalation, crisis management, and collaboration skills are essential to deliver quality, interactive services to individuals with differences. The role is located in Jacksonville, FL, and involves operating in-person activities within The Arc Jacksonville Village environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree with major in public administration, public health, nutrition, education, or related human services preferred
- At least one year of direct experience in recreational and social programs
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must be able to pass background clearance and pre-employment drug screening
- Must maintain a positive driving record for work-related functions
- Must complete Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
