Job Summary
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and directing activity programs to meet the spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social needs of residents. Duties include setting up activities, inviting residents, transporting as needed, attending planning meetings, assisting volunteers, cleaning the activity room, monitoring residents for changes in condition, reporting to the Activity Director, participating in holiday-theme setup, and coordinating with care staff. Requires strong communication, compassion for residents, ability to collaborate with staff and volunteers, and willingness to work beyond normal hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school degree or equivalent.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience working with elderly (preferred)
- Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts and games
- Ability to invite residents to activities and assist in getting them back to apartments
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and volunteers
