Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and implement diverse activities tailored to residents' needs. Engage residents in recreational, social, and educational programs while collaborating with the Activities Director to develop monthly calendars. Set up activity areas, gather supplies, and guide residents through events, adapting programs for varying abilities. Escort residents to and from community outings, assist in decorating common areas, and maintain accurate participation records. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols throughout. Requires driving a community van, flexibility for non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays, and ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Required Health Screening
- TB Clearance
- Criminal Record Clearance
- First Aid/CPR Certified
- Special skills needed to meet client needs [ California Code of Regulations Sections: 85065(f)/87411(g)]
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of social, emotional, and physical needs of older adults
- Creativity and the ability to develop engaging and meaningful activities for residents of varying interests and abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact compassionately and effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide emotional support and encouragement to residents
- Flexibility in working non-traditional hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as needed
- Able to drive community van/bus
- Able to assist residents entering and exiting van/bus

Desired Qualifications
- additional certifications or education in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an assisted living or senior care setting
