Activities Assistant (PRN)

Job Summary
PRN (on-call) Activities Assistant for a senior-care facility. Supports the Activities Manager with planning/facilitating programs, leads 1:1 visits and group activities, creates an engaging environment, assists with events and décor, implements varied activity approaches (music, art, pet therapy, etc.), engages room-bound residents, maintains attendance/records, promotes volunteer involvement, sets up/cleans supplies, and provides compassionate support to residents and families, including those facing end-of-life care. Requires creativity, compassion, strong engagement, teamwork, and confidentiality; education and certification preferred as outlined.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Recreation Therapist, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or Activity Assistant Certified (NCCAP or state-specific) preferred
- Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred
- Prefer minimum of 500 hours of experience in activity programming in any setting prior to hire
- Background check requirements per state’s specific rules prior to contact with patients/residents
