Activities Assistant - Long Term Care - PRN / On Call

Job Summary
Administer the monthly activity calendar and regularly elicit resident input to plan appropriate, meaningful one-on-one and group interventions. Organize and lead activities including music, craft, and spiritual events to support optimal functioning while maintaining dignity. Assist with simple nursing procedures and transport residents to and from rooms, while documenting Minimum Data Set and EPIC information. Demonstrate creativity and critical thinking to work with strong-willed residents and prioritize responsibilities autonomously under close supervision. Maintain required certifications such as BLS and drive as needed per department policy.
Required Qualifications
- Must have some availability to pick up on both weekdays and weekends
- Flexibility with shift start end time
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required based on location
- Must be certified within six months of hire
- Possesses a valid driver's license
- Must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience in social services or creative activities are preferred
- Experience in geriatrics preferred
- Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics
- Preferred current Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) certification or currently enrolled as a student in a healthcare related program preferred
- Ideally seeking 10am - 3pm with some flexibility
