Activities Assistant - Long Term Care - Part Time

Job Summary
Administer the monthly activity calendar and regularly elicit patient input to plan meaningful one-on-one and group interventions, including music, craft, and spiritual activities. Transport residents to and from rooms while assisting with simple nursing procedures and maintaining dignity. Document Minimum Data Sets and EPIC records, prioritize responsibilities autonomously, and demonstrate leadership to motivate staff. Work every other weekend from 10:30am to 4:30pm or 11am to 5pm at the Good Samaritan Society in New Hope, MN, earning $16.50-$22.50 with a weekend differential. Requires Basic Life Support certification and valid driver's license; no CNA experience needed.
Required Qualifications
- Weekend (United States of America)
- every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
- Weekday orientation & training
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- CPR training
- CPR certification within six months of hire
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Sanford Category I or II Driver
- motor vehicle report
- proof of valid driver's license
- medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience in social services or creative activities
- Experience in geriatrics
- Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics
- current Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) certification
- currently enrolled as a student in a healthcare related program
