Job Summary
Lead a program of arts, crafts, and recreation by introducing new projects and encouraging resident involvement. Assist with resident transport and attend to needs during entertainment or outside programs while assuring proper care, use, storage, and protection of tools and equipment. Maintain daily attendance and participation of residents and complete activity assessments. Attend recommended workshops, in-services, and meetings. This part-time role offers shifts from 2 hours daily Monday through Friday or 3 hours on weekends, with hourly pay ranging from $18.60 to $20.44 based on experience. Previous recreation experience with a geriatric population is preferred, and the facility provides student loan forgiveness guidance and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Able to read, write and speak the English language
- Able to push wheelchairs
- Able to be around animals (pets)
- Ability to work with dementia population
Desired Qualifications
- Previous recreation / activities experience with a geriatric population preferred
- MDS knowledge a plus
