Job Summary

Plan, organize, and direct quality activities for patients, including entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education, while ensuring recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met per Life Care standards. Escort patients to and from activities, make regular in-room visits to those unable to participate, chart patient progress and behavior, and assist in evacuation procedures. Maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors, uphold confidentiality, and adhere to all laws, regulations, and department policies regarding patient rights, safety, and sanitation. Work Tuesday through Saturday with a valid driver's license and proficiency in arts/crafts or music preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
  • Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
  • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience with geriatrics preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in arts/crafts/music is preferred
