Job Summary
Organize, plan, and develop programming and activities that support residents' physical conditioning, health, and social connections. Create monthly calendars, coordinate special events, and transport residents for outings and medical visits. Screen, recruit, and train volunteers while maintaining a safe, clean environment. Assist residents with dining and activities of daily living, observe health and safety changes, and report hazards immediately. Facilitate resident council meetings, follow up on concerns, and resolve reported issues. Respond promptly to resident and family requests, provide training to staff, and mentor new employees. Comply with all policies, emergency procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
