Job Summary
Coordinate and implement activity programs tailored to residents' backgrounds, interests, and abilities, including planning, setting up events, and distributing monthly calendars. Assist the Activities Director with resident evaluations, documentation of progress notes, facility newsletter maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control policies. Provide transportation for residents to physician appointments, designated outings, and deliveries, safely loading and unloading passengers while adhering to strict protocols for medical complexity and paperwork. Maintain accurate transport records, report resident condition changes or incidents to the Charge Nurse, and ensure all residents are accompanied by licensed staff where required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge on the use of personal computers, e-mail accounts, software programs such as Word and Excel
- Thorough understanding of the principles of best Activities practices
- Patience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity and physical level in which they are currently functioning
- Ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Corporate Compliance and HIPAA
- Age of 21
- Three years or more of driving experience
- Current, unencumbered driver's license issued by the State
- Valid documentation of a safe driving history
- Completion of a basic first aid course
- Completion of a driving skills test, upon hire
