Job Summary
Implement a varied activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of Atlantic Shores residents by following established policies and procedures. Leads discussion, special interest groups, games, and events including creative crafts, bingo, gardening, parties, and movies while assisting in the movement of residents to and from activity areas. Keeps records and reports resident responses to the activity program. Works special events for residents, including those on holidays, evenings, and weekends, with flexible scheduling availability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months to one-year of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to act in a resident's best interest and make responsible choices and decisions
- Ability to lead activities and motivate residents and fellow team members for their involvement in the planned social events and activities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a timely manner
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to facilitate small group presentations
- Organization and time-management skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Windows, Outlook, and Excel) and the ability to learn new applications
- Willingness to learn and make a conscious choice to be positive daily
- Must be flexible in scheduling availability to include being assigned to evenings, holidays, and weekend hours
