Activities and Transportation Assistant

Job Summary
Plan and conduct activity programs for residents, assisting with outings and transporting them to and from programs. Perform pre-trip safety checks, maintain vehicle condition, and report maintenance needs. Conduct one-to-one therapeutic visits, assist clients to and from the vehicle, and ensure proper restraint of wheelchair passengers. Manage daily attendance records, provide input for care and family conferences, and help decorate and publicize therapeutic programs. Safely transport vulnerable adults while adhering to MN DOT and STS regulations, weather conditions, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 24+ years old
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no revocations, suspensions, or cancellations in the last 5 years)
- Ability to pass an MN DOT physical
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must have a special interest in working with geriatric residents
- Must assume responsibility for learning and following therapeutic recreational techniques and documentation procedures
- Must be able to generate enthusiasm during programs
- Must be willing to participate in special events
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred
