Job Summary
Assist in planning and leading social, physical, and cognitive activities for residents in a long-term care or assisted living facility. Develop and organize daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules, adapt activities for varying mobility and cognitive needs, and encourage resident participation. Lead group activities (games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, special events) and provide individualized engagement, while maintaining resident safety and well-being. Document attendance and participation, support with setup/cleanup, and help coordinate with volunteers and staff. Work closely with the Activities Director to ensure activities align with residents’ interests and needs. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in activities coordination or elderly care is preferred. Key skills include strong interpersonal/communication abilities, patience, empathy, creativity, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills for documentation are recommended.
