Job Summary
Develop and lead individual and group activities for patients in the swing program, tailoring sessions to their assessments, interests, and care plans. Initiate activity assessments for new admits, document participation, and prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies before and after each program. Transport patients for outings and medical appointments, assist with technology usage and family connections, and maintain a safe environment through risk management and cleaning. Work under the guidance of a Certified Activities Professional to oversee volunteers, coordinate care planning, and support quality assurance initiatives. This part-time role at Pershing General Hospital may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Nevada driver's license or issuance within 30 days of date of hire
- CNA license strongly preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- One year of experience related to activities for residents and patients of LTC or SNF facilities
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
- Emotional resilience to cope with stressful situations and interact with patients in various states of health and cognitive ability
- Capacity to prioritize tasks, multitask, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient status and communicate effectively
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently
- Varying schedules, including day shifts, evening shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required
