Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic recreational assessments on new members to identify interests and abilities, maintaining accurate records. Develop, plan, organize, and implement diverse creative programs designed to entertain, encourage interaction, and promote health. Supervise staff and volunteers, manage activity supplies and equipment, and ensure all areas remain organized, clean, and stocked. Actively participate in safety initiatives, care planning conferences, and cross-functional team meetings to coordinate ancillary services and enhance member experiences. Assist members with activities of daily living as needed while communicating professionally with families and community agencies. Work a flexible schedule, standing and engaging with members for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years (or full-time equivalent) activities experience
- Successful results of background check
- Additional state-specific regulatory requirements as mandated
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- Activities experience preferably in a healthcare setting
- Certified Activity Professional
- Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs
- Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to stand and actively engage with members for an extended period
- Ability to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer and lift 50 pounds
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
